Privacy policy

SuitSol, trading as SuitSol, is a technology services company. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company; "you" means anyone visiting this website or contacting us through it.

We are the controller of the personal information described here. For any question about it, write to info@suitsol.com. We answer within one working day.

This policy covers https://suitsol.com and the enquiry form on it. It does not cover client project work, where the handling of data is governed by the written agreement and any data processing addendum signed for that engagement, nor does it cover third-party websites we link to.

The contact form is the only place on this site where you are asked to provide information about yourself. It collects:

Our hosting provider records standard server log data when a page is served: the requesting IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string. This is ordinary web infrastructure data, kept for security and diagnostics.

We also use two third-party measurement scripts, Google Analytics and Leadfeeder, which are described in the next section. Apart from that, the site runs no advertising trackers, no remarketing tags and no social media pixels, and we do not build a profile of you. The only thing this site stores on your device by itself is your answer to the cookie question, so that we do not ask again on every page.

This site uses Google Analytics 4, a measurement service provided by Google, to count visits and see which pages are actually read. We use it to decide what to write next and what to fix. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell what it collects.

Analytics sets cookies in your browser and gives that browser a randomly generated identifier, which is how it recognises the same browser from one page or visit to the next. What it reports back to us is aggregate: which pages were viewed and in what order, how long was spent on them, whether the visit arrived from a search engine, a link elsewhere or directly, an approximate location worked out from the IP address at around city level, and the device, operating system and browser used. We do not see your IP address in Analytics, we do not try to identify you from any of it, and we do not connect it to an enquiry you send through the form.

Google processes this for us as our service provider, under its own terms, and as a United States company it may process it there. Google describes what it does with data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

We also use Leadfeeder, a service provided by Dealfront, to learn which companies visit the site. It sets a cookie in your browser (_lfa) that recognises the same browser across visits, and it matches the IP address of the visit against business registers to name the organisation that network belongs to, together with the pages viewed and when. It is designed to identify companies, not individuals, and we use it to understand which organisations are interested in our services. Dealfront processes this for us as our service provider, under its own terms.

Because these cookies are not strictly necessary, we ask before we set them. On your first visit a banner asks whether to allow analytics, and nothing is requested from Google or Leadfeeder and nothing is stored on your device unless you accept. Declining is one click, in the same place and at the same size as accepting, and the site works exactly the same either way.

Your answer is remembered on your own device so we do not ask again, and you can change it whenever you like: the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page reopens that banner. Changing it to a no deletes the analytics cookies there and then. Clearing your browser storage for this site also clears the answer, and we simply ask again next time.

Independently of all that, every major browser can block or clear cookies for this site, and Google publishes an opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout that turns Analytics off on every site you visit.

We use what you send through the contact form for one purpose: to answer your enquiry and, if it leads somewhere, to discuss the work. We do not sell it, rent it, or add it to a marketing list without your explicit agreement.

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to a business enquiry you initiated) and, where an enquiry leads towards a contract, steps taken at your request prior to entering into one. Server log data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure.

For the analytics described above, our basis is your consent, given through the banner and withdrawable at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Declining deletes the analytics cookies from your device and stops any further measurement; it does not reach back and undo what was collected while consent was in place.

We keep the list of parties with access deliberately short. Your enquiry, or the measurement data described above, may be handled by:

We are based in the United States and our service providers are, in the main, United States companies, so information you send us is likely to be processed there. If you contact us from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or another region with transfer restrictions, sending the form means your information will be transferred to the United States. Where such a transfer requires a safeguard, we rely on the standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism in our agreements with the providers concerned.

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to twenty-four months, so that we can recognise a returning contact and pick up the thread, and are then deleted. Enquiries that become client engagements are retained for the life of the relationship and for as long afterwards as tax, accounting and limitation rules require. Server logs are retained on a short rolling window, typically no more than ninety days.

Where you have accepted analytics, the resulting data is held by Google for the retention period set on our Analytics property and by Dealfront for the life of our Leadfeeder account, and the cookies set in your browser expire on their own — the main one after two years — or sooner if you clear them. If you have not accepted, there is nothing of this kind to keep.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner. Unless we have a legal reason to keep it, we will.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Residents of the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area have these rights under the GDPR; residents of California have comparable rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

To exercise any of these, email info@suitsol.com with enough detail for us to find your record. We do not charge for this and we will respond within one month, or sooner. We may need to verify your identity before acting, which for an emailed enquiry usually means replying from the address that sent it.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we have never done so.

If you believe we have handled your information badly, please tell us first, because we would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority: in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office; in the European Economic Area, the supervisory authority for your country.

The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are transmitted encrypted, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, health information or other sensitive material through the contact form; if we need something of that kind, we will arrange a secure channel for it.

This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where we link to another organisation's website, that site's own privacy policy governs what happens there. We have no control over how third parties handle your information and we are not responsible for their practices.

When this policy changes we update the effective date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will make that clear rather than rely on the date alone.
